Brigadier General Mike LeeMichael G. Lee, U.S. Air Force (Ret.) joined Blue Canopy from General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) in May 2012. At GDIT, as the Vice President and General Manager for the Military Service Sector, General Lee was responsible for the growth and performance of the Defense Intelligence business unit. The customer base included the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, along with Joint/Combatant Commands and Coalition Forces. Prior to GDIT, he worked at Lockheed Martin Corporation as Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Initiatives and was the Vice President and Executive Director at American Systems Corporation.

General Lee served a distinguished 31 career in the U.S. Air Force. During the last 3 years of his military career, he was assigned as the Military Executive at the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (now the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency–NGA). While at NGA, he was deployed for 22 months to Afghanistan and Iraq as USCENTCOM’s National ISR and C2 coordinator during Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. General Lee’s ability to bring “intelligence to the war fighter” revolutionized NGA’s wartime capabilities. The Director for Central Intelligence (DCI) awarded him the National Intelligence Medal of Achievement for revolutionizing intelligence support to active duty troops. He has also received the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, and the Bronze Star.

General Lee sits on the Board of Directors for the U.S. Geospatial-Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) and is a Founding Member of the Washington Cyber Roundtable. He is a Federal Computer Week ‘Fed 100’ award winner in recognition of his leadership in the Federal IT marketplace. He frequently speaks on the integration of GEOINT and Full Motion Video and the Integration of Intelligence Systems.

General Lee has a Bachelor of Arts from Clemson University as well as a Master of Arts from Troy State University. He has attended the National Security Management Program at Syracuse University and the Royal College of Defence Studies in London, England.
